We live in a world of drones, and these small flying devices that can film will soon be flooding our skies.  Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos envisions a world where drones will deliver our packages, which means we are going to need advanced models with cameras that can operate from long distances.  There are two new types of drones that are ready to change the world with the DJI new Mavic Pro drone as well as the GoPro Karma drone.  This is what is known about the DJI Mavic Pro and GoPro drone release date, price, and specs.

DJI Mavic Pro Drone Release Date, Price, and Specs

The Verge recently did a hands-on review of DJI's Mavic Pro, and the first thing they observed is that it is half the size and weight of DJI's flagship unit, the Phantom.  It is slimmer, and it can fold up to fit into a backpack or purse, with the propeller rotors folding over the body itself.  It is almost small enough to fit in someone's back pocket.

The camera in the DJI Mavic Pro has the same sensor as the Phantom 4, shooting 4K video at 30 fps and full 1080p HD at 96 fps.  The camera is a 12 Megapixel job that has support for Adobe DNG RAW, with a 78-degree field of view.  What is interesting is that the drone is capable of a top speed of 40 miles per hour, but the battery life is only at 27 minutes.

According to Wired, you should be able to get the Mavic Pro on October 15 for $749, and bundling with DJI's controller will cost $999.  There is also an accessory kit with controller, spare batteries, bag, for about $1,299.

GoPro Karma Drone Release Date, Price, and Specs

If you are not familiar with GoPro, they put out those great tiny cameras that are very water-resistant and good at filming just about everything.  The company just recently put out the GoPro Hero 5, and it put out the Karma Drone to hold it so it can fly around.

It doesn't look like the Karma Drone is as foldable as the DJI Mavic Pro competitor, but that doesn't mean that it isn't portable.  It can cover a maximum speed of 35 mph, and its flight time is good for about 20 minutes.

The Hero 5 is capable of recording 4K videos at a 30fps rate, but it won't be released until October 2nd.  The drone itself won't be coming out until October 23rd.  The price of the Karma Drone is about $799.99, but if you want to get it with the Hero 5 Black, it will cost $999-$1,099, depending on the GoPro Hero variant that will go with it.
