Good news for Final Fantasy fans out there. The remake of Final Fantasy 7 (FF7) may finally become available next year. We already know it is a three-part series, and latest reports say the first installment will be released on December 2017.

Now, here's everything you need to know about Final Fantasy 7 release date and rumors on the web.

According to an Amazon listing, Final Fantasy VII: Remake will be released on December 29, 2017. Interested buyers can also pre-order the game now for only $60. However, the listing only shows the remake's PS4 version. There's still no update about its Xbox One and PC versions, but we expect they will become available at a later date.

In a GameSpot article, producer Yoshinori Kitase confirmed the FF7 Remake is a three-part game saga. He also said the development team used the Final Fantasy XIII series as a model for the upcoming remastered game.

Interestingly, Kitase stated the team is modernizing the story of FF7 to make it appealing to old and veteran gamers. He explained most of the developers assigned in the remake were also part of the original FF7, and they think the game's storyline and combat style should be improved for today's game consoles. Fans of the series can also expect the best parts of the original FF7 would remain.

Developer Square Enix initially announced the Final Fantasy 7 Remake during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2015. However, after the event, the developer did not give any update about the game, leading some fans to speculate the remake is already cancelled.

But latest reports suggest Square Enix has been tight-lipped about FF7 remake to promote the Final Fantasy 15, which will be released on November 29. Gaming analysts say promoting the FF7 remake would hurt the marketing plan for Final Fantasy 15 and take its limelight.

The original Final Fantasy VII was considered as one of the greatest RPG games of all time. Released in 1997, the game follows the story of Cloud Strife and his campaign against the evil Shinra megacorporation. The game has more than 40 hours of gameplay, and some tech expert believe the remake would offer more expansive story.

With that being said, let's wait for more announcements from Square Enix about Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Stay tuned with us for more update.
