After Nexus devices received their Android Nougat last August, now is the time for Motorola devices to get their taste of Google's new operating system. In a blog post, Motorola published a full list phones that are eligible for Android Nougat update.

For those who purchased a Motorola device last year, they can expect their device is included in the Android Nougat roll out. However, Android Central says some of the latest Moto devices may not get the update.

Although last year's Moto X Pure Edition and X Play are included in the update, others phones like the Moto G (2015) and Moto E3 Power won't get the new OS. It is still unclear why these devices won't receive the Nougat, but they might not be powerful enough to handle the new features of the OS.

Nevertheless, majority of the latest Moto phones are included in the first batch of devices that will receive the Nougat. Users of the Moto Z and Moto G4 should expect an OTA (Over-the-Air) notification in the next few weeks. The Verge reports the Motorola Android Nougat roll out is scheduled to start this October.

Last year, Motorola is one of the first phone makers that immediately released the outgoing Android Marshmallow. The firmware rolled out first in India and Brazil, and then it became available worldwide a month after.

Android Nougat is Google's new operating system for mobile devices. The newest Android dessert has the same material design like Android 6.0 Marshmallow but adds new, innovative features to mobile devices.

The firmware's highlight feature is the Multi-window mode, which allows users to open two apps side by side on the screen. With that feature, users can watch YouTube videos while writing an email.

Furthermore, Yahoo News says Nougat has support for Daydream, Google's own VR platform. Nougat's VR support is good news for gadget lovers who want to experience the new technology but don't want to buy a new phone.
