Half-Life is one of the most popular shooter games from Valve. Latest reports say its new sequel is now being developed for VR platform and could become available in late 2017. According to Valve News Network, the unannounced Half-Life 3 will arrive with new character, weapons and features.

The folks over at the Valve News Network recently found a series of codes on last week's Dota 2 update. The leaked codes contain "HRVR" tags, which might be a reference to Half-Life VR. There are also files that contain codes for new assets like guns and ammo clips.

Interestingly, the files have updated. Gaming experts say this means developers have been working on this project.

According to GameSpot, if this is the Half-Life 3, it might not feature the silent protagonist Gordon Freeman. In the leaked codes, there are files referring to a HLVR player that speaks. Therefore, players might see new protagonist in the next Half-Life game.

On Twitter, Steam Database teased fans about Valve's next project. While Valve is not issuing any VR content announcements, Steam Database said fans "won't be disappointed" when they hear next year what the game developer is working on.

As of now, Valve has not yet released any official announcement about Half-Life 3 or Half-Life VR. It is also possible the leaked codes are leftover files from a previous project of the Washington-based game developer.

Previous rumors say the next installment in Half Life franchise will be revealed in E3 2016 last June, and obviously it did not happen. The franchise is one the most popular shooter games, so it is not surprising many fans are looking forward for its next sequel. In fact, there's a Reddit page dedicated to track the latest news about Half Life 3. The page has more than 29,000 followers.

Recently, Valve revealed its plan to move into a new office in 2017, fueling speculations that Half-Life 3 is really under way. The game developer apparently needs much larger space as a preparation for bigger work needed in upcoming titles.

Next year, Valve game employees and developers will be working on the 225,000 square feet Lincoln Square tower. This new office building is five times bigger than the company's current office space, according to Valve official website.

Stick with us for more update. We might hear the announcement of Half-Life 3 or Half-Life VR early next year.
