By collecting these precious balls, players can summon Shenron to grant their wishes. Now, here's how you can find the key items in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
Let's start with the easiest way to get them, but it also the most random method, so have some patience. First, you have to defeat AI Time Patrollers roaming around the Canton City. These characters have distinct blue mark above their heads.
Take note that the frequency of battles in the city is random, so you have to take some time flying around. But here's a tip: you can get your first Dragon Ball by defeating Sanud, who is hanging around at Orange Star High School. After you defeated him, you'll get the the Four-Star Dragon Ball.
In the second method, you have to enter the Parallel Quest 4, which is named "Prepare for the Attack of Saiyans." It is important to quickly defeat the first three enemies. After defeating them, a portal will show up in the map but DON'T ENTER IT if you want to get a Dragon Ball. There should be three time patrollers in the map alongside with the portal. Go to them and challenge them.
If you got a message that says you received a KEY ITEM, finish the mission and go back to the Canton City. However, if you don't get the KEY ITEM, restart the Parallel Quest 4 until you have one. Repeat the mission again till you get all of the seven Dragon Balls.
When you already obtained all of the Dragon Balls, go to the Dragon Ball Pedestal, which can be found in the middle of Canton City. There, summon Shenron and he will grant one of your wishes.
The 11 wishes that you can choose from are listed below.

- "I want a rare item" will grant you a set of rare in-game equipment.
- "I want to dress up" will reward you a unique piece of apparel and clothing.
- "I want to get stronger" will give a Rare Super Soul.
- "I want to grow" will increase you level. "I want a new Super Attack" will provide you a new and unique Super Attack"
- "I want a new Ultimate Attack" will grant you a new, rare Ultimate Attack.
- "I want more useable Characters" will reward a number of exclusive fighters that can only be unlocked by Shenron.
- "I want a second chance at life" will give a chance to modify your state points.
- "I want a second chance at life" will change your avatar's look.
- "I want medals" will reward you TP medals.
