2017 is the year of remasters and remakes. Many game developers are now preparing to release the HD makeovers of their beloved franchises. If you have the first PlayStation back in the early 2000s,  you'll probably remember the adventurous marsupial, Crash Bandicoot. The release date of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is on June 30. The hype for the game is now building up as publisher Activision revealed the exclusive digital items to early buyers.

According to a PlayStation Store listing, pre-orderers of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will get exclusive items from the "Friends Pack." Some of the in-game items in the package are avatars for Polar (Crash's Artic buddy) and Witch Doctor Aku. Early buyers can also use the avatars as their display picture on their PSN account.

Aside from new avatars, those who pre-order will also receive a dynamic theme pack, which includes Crash's adventure in an icy landscape with Polar.

It is not yet clear if the avatars and the dynamic theme will still be made available for gamers after the game's June 30 release. But some market analysts believe the items will only be available before the launch date to encourage players to buy the game.

The remastered Crash Bandicoot has official merchandise too. Check out Numskull's website to see the complete list of items. Longtime fans of the game will love the Crash-themed images and logos on chains, mugs, shirts and hats.

Furthermore, there are Crash Bandicoot-themed scented candles, which is perfect for folks who want to freshen up their room. There are also three candle designs inspired by TNT boxes in the game. The full set of jungle-scented candles is priced at $42.

Numskull is a design company based in the United Kingdom. Their items are shipped in 15 countries and are available in different stores.

For the changes and updates in Crash Bandicoot PS4, Vicarious Visions' game director Dan Tanguay said the development team remastered the trilogy "holistically." He added the team had the benefit of the franchise's 20-year existence. They tweaked some gameplay mechanics and retained the good ones.

As we see in gameplay videos, there are unified checkpoints in each level. Also, the inclusion of auto-saving feature is a big help for gamers. The game developers assure fans that all of the core contents and gameplay mechanics of Crash Bandicoot franchise have not been lost in translation.

Of course, we can expect there are big improvements in the graphics department. The developers made the animation more realistic and immersive.
