GTA 5 PS4, Xbox One, PC Release Date Leaked: Can it Be True?

Once again, the exact release date for Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5) on PS4, Xbox One, and PC may have been leaked by an online retailer despite Rockstar Games' silence.

Although the gaming company has released a teaser trailer for the next-gen GTA 5, it vaguely gave a launch date for this fall.

Last week, UK's GameSeek announced that the game will be released on Nov. 7, 2014. Currently, GTA 5 is listed as available for pre-order on the site. The British retailer is not the first European business to offer a release date ahead of an official announcement.

Earlier in July, Danish online merchant Coolshop claimed that GTA 5 will be ready by Nov. 14. The store later changed the availability date to Dec. 31 for reason unknown.

Despite a lack of response from Rockstar Games, the rumor mill is rife with speculation that the recent leaks reflect a possible North American launch date. The first GTA 5 release for the current-gen PS3 and Xbox 360 came out in Europe and North American simultaneously. So, it is possible U.S. consumers will start seeing the next-gen GTA 5 in early November, provided the information is true.

This may come as good news for players still waiting for the Heists update for GTA 5's online version. Back in early April, Rockstar had announced they were launching 'Online Heists' as a part of a lineup of spring 2014 updates for GTA 5's online portion. The other updates include the 'Online Creator' and 'High Life' updates that were respectively released in April and May.

According to Rockstar, the Heists update for Grand Theft Auto Online will allow players to "team up" with "trusted crew members or with random other mercenaries" in cooperative online heists missions. In June, Rockstar apologized to disappointed fans for delays in releasing the Heists DLC.

"We are very sorry for the delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can," Rockstar said. "Please know that we are focused as always on making the best possible content for you to play and we are thankful to all of you for your patience, understanding and support."

Even so, there are rumors that Rockstar may have stopped Heists development indefinitely. Only time will tell if this speculation is true. For now, fans can look forward to the revamped GTA V that will be available on the PS4 and Xbox One next-gen consoles. A similar version will also be released for the PC.
