Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC Release Date: Patch 7 Update For PS4 And Xbox One

Game publishing giant Electronic Arts announced on Saturday (May 30) announced a cross-buy for Dragon Age: Inquisition's DLC that allows players to use the Jaws of Hakkon DLC on PS3 or 360, and get it free on PS4 or Xbox One, respectively.

According to Game Spot, the cross-buy features allow players to purchase the content once and access it on consoles in the same family, both the last-gen and current generation consoles. As expected, users of the old generation consoles, like Xbox 360 and PS3 welcomed the cross-buy

However, the Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC will only apply within the same console family. So if you buy the DLC on PlayStation 3 (PS3), you can only access it on PS4. The same applies with Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Twin Finite explained that if you buy Dragon Age: Inquisition's newly released Jaws of Hakkon DLC on PS3 or Xbox 360, you can easily access the game for free if you switch or upgrade to current consoles because of the cross-buy.

Previous game titles which used the cross-buy strategy were Shovel Knight and Helldivers. It added that digital games Shovel Knight, Helldivers as well as Destiny require players to use the same profile when upgrading consoles via cross-buy.

But this can only work within the same family, the report said. A player can only get access of Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC for PS4 if the player buys the PS3 version. The same principle applies to Xbox consoles.

The game's developer BioWare posted Dragon Age: Inquisition Patch 7 Notes.

Meanwhile, Dragon Age: Inquisition announced on its official Facebook page a new multiplayer task to take out demons and mages. BioWare has called on players to stop the rise in nefarious activity.

Inquisitor reported that this weekend's challenge is called Purging the Elements, and calls on players to challenge a group of specific enemies.

The web site quoted Nightingale as saying, "Our spies report that the Venatori are preparing for something big. We do not yet know what they intend, but they are weakening the Veil across southern Thedas. We must eliminate enemy mages and the demons that have crossed into our world to prevent another catastrophic breach."

Players participating in the Dragon Age: Inquisition weekend multiplayer challenge must personally defeat 75 enemies. The enemies must be a combination of the following: despair demons, dragons, enchanters, rage demons, and pride demons.

After taking out the foes, players will rewarded with a free Commendation Chest. Playing on different platforms require different goals. Playstation 4 players must defeat the highest number of enemies with their goal at 175,000. Xbox One and PC players will need to defeat 100,000 foes combined while those on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 need only eliminate 35,000 adversaries. A community that meet the goal will be given a free Victory Chest to be delivered to all Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer users on the platform.
