China celebrated its 56th Anniversary Day on October 1st. Hong Kong special district government and local community groups held celebration activity. Some believers saw this time as opportunity to proclaim the gospel, so they gathered at different attraction points in the city to pass out gospel tracks to tourist kids from mainland. They hope the message of the gospel can be brought to China.

Because the relationship between China and Hong Kong has always been close, the believers in Hong Kong are especially concerned about the resources and financial needs in mainland China. Starting in Oct 1st, Child Evangelism Fellowship (HK) began passing out fans with gospel CDs taped to it for eight-straight days in locations such as Golden Bauhinia Square, Disneyland, Sea World, and various other tourist attraction sites.

The motive behind this is so that the message of the gospel can be given to touring children from mainland. Approximately 240 volunteers will participate in passing out 10,000 fans; the director stated that until Oct 3, the Child Evangelism Fellowship has passed out over 4000 fans.

The morning of Oct 1st, the special district government raised up a flag in Golden Bauhinia Square; that night, 445,000 people gathered to watch firework show displays.

On that same day, Beijing Tiananmen Square held a flag raising ceremony that attracted over 200,000 tourist; on that same day, over 300,000 people came to Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Catholic Diocese Association held a parade, presenting a petition letter to China Embassy in Hong Kong asking for the release a reporter, who was arrested on the charge of spying.
