NEW YORK — July 1, 2025 — The Bachelor alum Madison Prewett has publicly shared her personal journey of overcoming pornography and masturbation addiction, crediting her Christian faith as the source of her healing and long-term freedom.
In a recent episode of her podcast Stay True, Prewett revealed that her struggles began in middle school after being exposed to explicit content at a friend’s house. What started as curiosity gradually developed into a hidden pattern of addiction, even as she maintained an outward appearance of strong Christian faith.
“I really loved Jesus and wanted to honor Him,” she said, “but I couldn’t stop this secret sin.” The tension between her beliefs and her private behavior led to years of shame, isolation, and deep internal conflict, according to Christian Post.
Prewett said the turning point came when she brought her struggles into the open. “Something shifted when I brought it into the light,” she shared. Through honest confession to trusted friends and mentors within her faith community, she experienced what she described as genuine spiritual freedom.
According to Christian Post, Prewett has now been free from addiction for over 10 years. She emphasized that healing came not through willpower, but through surrendering her brokenness to God and allowing others to walk with her through it.
She also spoke about how she and her husband, Grant Troutt, approached their relationship with a shared commitment to honesty and purity. “We were both willing to talk about our pasts and pursue God’s design for our future,” she said.
Prewett hopes that her story will encourage others facing similar struggles to speak up and seek help. “You’re not alone. God can free you too,” she said.
