There were a lot of fans who truly wanted to see Rousey win that fight, and while Holly Holm beat the odds, many fans of Rousey want her to have a rematch. This is also what Rousey wants, but it isn't quite easy to set up. According to MMA Junkie, this epic fight between Rousey and Holm is not planned to take place at UFC 200 in July, but Rousey wants her championship rematch with women's bantamweight titleholder Holly Holm to take place before the year is out.
Rousey, who is rated 6-1 at UFC and 12-1 at MMA, has made only brief public appearances since she lost the UFC belt to Holm (3-0 UFC, 10-0 MMA) at UFC 193 last November. Many thought the loss to Holm put a black mark on Rousey's career, but she is actually quite busy. This might be the reason for the delay for an immediate rematch. She is slated to host Saturday Night Live, and is planning on doing a movie with Tina Fey.
As for Holm, she is booked for the UFC 197 showdown with Miesha Tate (4-2 UFC, 17-5 MMA), and this will be her first attempted title defense. If Holm wins the UFC 197 event, it could set up another fight with Rousey. However, a title win for Tate at UFC 197 could change plans for every party involved.
Rousey has stated the importance of this fight to her: "It's a decision we're all going to make together, but I'm kind of waiting to hear from them [UFC executives] what options they're going to give me. Of course [I want a rematch]. That's what I want to do."
