New HTC M10 Release Date, Specs, and Rumors: HTC Announces April 12 Press Event

Rumors about HTC 10 (One M10) have been making rounds online. Now, the company is set to make an official announcement about the much-awaited flagship device. HTC revealed that it would hold a press event on April 12, which could be the release date of One M10.

Here's what is currently known about HTC M10 release date, specs, and rumors on the web.

In comparison to HTC M9, Tech Radar published the upcoming One M10 would feature revamped design, upgraded processor and fingerprint scanner.

Furthermore, the device will sport a 5.1-inch or 5.2-inch screen, coupled with Super LCD 5 display. These screen features will offer less glare and better visibility when the device is used outdoors.  It is reported that the handset will be available in four different colors to allow users choose the one that suits their personality.

Several tech websites predicted the HTC One M10 will powered by Qualcomm's the Snapdragon 820 processor with a 4GB RAM and up to 32GB of internal storage. Users can also expand the device's storage by up 200 GB by using microSD slot.

The M10 is said to boast a longer battery life. With 3,000mAh battery capacity, the handset will no doubt can last for several hours on a single charge.

Many phone manufacturers are developing advanced camera technology for their devices, but HTC M10's camera will boast unique features like Laser Autofocus, Optical Image Stabilizer and Sapphire Lens Cover. Also, its camera will have Ultra Pixel technology instead of the traditional Megapixel. Tech Times reported its main camera will have 12 Ultra Pixel.

All of these specifications of HTC M10 can make gadget enthusiasts excited about the device, but it's important to note that these are just rumors and HTC hasn't confirmed or denied anything yet. Interestingly, the device is under the codename "Perfume," which could very well end up being the HTC One M10.

HTC's Power of 10 event will take place in London at April 12, according to the company's Twitter post.

Tech experts said the M10 is expected to compete with newly-released or upcoming devices from the biggest players in the smartphone game. 

Samsung recently released the the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge earlier this month. LG is currently preparing for the launching of LG G5, which is set to become available on T-Mobile and all other major U.S. carriers on April 1. In addition, gadget lovers have a brand new iOS smartphone to consider now that Apple released its new 4-inch iPhone. Pre-oders for the iPhone SE begins on March 2 and shipping starts on March 31.
