Last week, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos teased fans about the successor of Kindle Voyage, but before its launching, details about the improved Kindle Oasis have surfaced online. Now, here's the latest round-up of the update on 2016 Kindle Oasis release date, specs and rumors on the web.

A report from The Verge gave details about the all-new eBook reader from Amazon called Kindle Oasis. The website reportedly got the details from a Chinese website Tmall before the page was taken down. According to the leaked information, the e-reader will become available this week, and it will sport revamped design to give users better reading experience.

The 2016 Kindle Oasis features a large bezel on one side of the display, which allows readers to hold it with one-hand. The larger bezel also has page-turn button, which means readers don't have to swipe the screen to turn pages.

Furthermore, the new Oasis offers a 300ppi display to improve the screen's sharpness and text clarity. There's also 60 percent increase in the number of LEDs underneath the device to make the backlighting more uniform and keep reader's eyes healthy.

The upcoming e-book reader is also slimmer and lighter. It measures 3.5mm at its thinnest point and 8.5mm at its thickest. Also, it only weighs 131 grams (0.29lbs), making it 20 percent lighter than the other e-readers.

One of its outstanding features is that it can last for up to 20 months of standby time, which is pretty amazing.  It also introduces new "Kindle sleep mode" that helps to preserve the battery system.

As its name suggests, there are reports that say Kindle Oasis might have waterproof features, but the leaked information from Tmall did not reveal any details about it. For its price, International Business Times reported the Kindle Oasis could cost around $199, matching the price of the current top-of-the-line reader from Amazon, the Kindle Voyage.

As of now, Amazon offers three models of the seventh-generation Kindle. The lineup includes the standard Kindle, the Kindle Paperwhite, and the Kindle Voyage.

In related news, CNET said the Kindle devices are one of the top-selling products from Amazon. At the company's latest sales chart,   the Kindle Paperwhite ranks as the sixth-biggest product. The standard Kindle is at No.26, and the top-spec Voyage is at No.30.

With that being said, expect to hear more from Amazon in the next couple of days. We'll give you updates about the upcoming Kindle products, so stay tuned for more information.
