Oscar De La Hoya, the former professional boxing champ, has accused Donald Trump of cheating at golf. However, the Republican presidential nominee maintained that he never cheated at golf because of his massive respect for the game.

According to De La Hoya, the incident happened two years ago while he was playing at Trumps golf course in Los Angeles. After playing a couple of holes, Trump approached him and asked if he could play with him.

But then, right at the beginning of their game, De La Hoya immediately noticed that Trump was cheating.

"First ball, [Trump] hits off to the water, gets another ball from his pocket. Hits it off to the left, out of bounds" the former boxer said according to LA Times. "Another one to the water. Then the fourth ball he hits - I know it went to the bushes."

"But Donald, what he does, he tees off first so he can take off right away," he added. "I pipe mine down the middle. So we go off to our ball, and who do we see? Donald Trump, right in the middle of the fairway."

According to De La Hoya, Trump claimed that he was able to find his first ball in the fairway. But then, as they move up to the green, Trump made another out-of-bound shot. But, like in the initial incident, he was still able to find his ball in the green.

According to De La Hoya, Trump cheated during their game. The presidential candidate, on the other hand, said that he didn't cheat and that he had never played golf with the boxer in his life.

"Not only didn't I cheat, I didn't play with him," Trump told the Associated Press. "I have never played a round of golf with this guy.

Trump then went on to say that he respects the sport of golf too much to cheat. He also noted that he doesn't need to resort to dirty tactics to win at this sport since his number of club championships already reflect his skills as a golfer.
