Evangelist Franklin Graham has expressed dismay that the America he grew up in is "quickly disappearing" and warned that unless Christians get out and vote, things will never change.
Franklin Graham has clarified his stance on President Donald Trump's executive order restricting travel from seven Muslim-majority countries considered hotbeds of terrorism and said that Americans need to "support the president" when there are "danger signs".

Evangelist Franklin Graham has expressed dismay that the America he grew up in is "quickly disappearing" and warned that unless Christians get out and vote, things will never change.

"Washington is so corrupt, it's a shame," the 64-year-old leader of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse said in a recent Facebook post.. "I even saw an ad for a t-shirt that says 'Drain the swamp in Washington, D.C.' Boy, isn't that the truth!"

In making his argument, Billy Graham's son quoted Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who said our nation's capital is "broken" and that our institutions are being destroyed.

"The responsibility for future generations is in our hands," he wrote. "How you exercise your privilege to vote and who you vote for is going to determine the type of life your children and grandchildren have."

The evangelist added: "Every Christian needs to pray and to vote. The America I grew up in is quickly disappearing, but with God's help and your prayers, things can change."

Graham, who recently finished the last leg of his Decision America Tour in North Carolina with a crowd of over 14,200, frequently warns that the moral and spiritual trajectory of our nation will not change unless Americans elect God-fearing politicians to office.

While he has not endorsed Republican candidate Donald Trump or Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, he earlier accused the secular media of spinning stories that are partial to the political candidate of their choice.

"I hope and pray that Christians are not deceived by the media's bias, but will give prayerful consideration as they go to the polls and vote."

The evangelist has also argued that besides the election, there is a more important battle taking place as America continues to experience the "Great Deception".

The "forces of godless secularism want to remove the name of God and his son Jesus Christ" from the United States, and that those battles have been rising with for several years with more intensity, he wrote. "Hollywood and media moguls want you to think sin is okay, even something to celebrate. It's not. Sin has a price, and the price is death - spiritual death."

Graham cited Ephesians 6:12-13 which reads: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."

"My question for you - Have you put on your armor?" he concluded.
