There is something about San Diego and great Christian bands. Something Like Silas is the emerging church-based worship band that leads worship for a congregation of more than 3000 at the church called Flood and plans to release their debut album, DIVINE INVITATION, on June 15th. A band of diversity and sincerity, this Christian alternative rock band received its blend of musical influences from many distinguished bands such as U2, Radiohead, and Jimmy Eat World.

Music by Something Like Silas allows the listeners to connect spirit to spirit with God with no hindrances as the atmosphere becomes one where the Lord reigns above all else. The amazing combination of powerful guitars, impressive keyboards, and influential bass and drums produces a sound that is not only entertaining but also fulfilling in the true sense of worship towards God.

“We want to change the way people look at worship bands,?says vocalist/guitarist Eric M. Owyoung. “We want to play sweet music that engages people on their journeys toward knowing the hope found in God, whether they know him personally or are just open to it.?

Producer Steve Hindalong testifies: “Something Like Silas is ‘a band?in the true since ?(the members) so distinct from one another, yet each contributing invaluable talent and personality to the collective spirit of the group. They’re all great musicians; but more importantly their faith is transparent by their goodness of heart. I feel lucky and blessed to have worked with them.?

Something Like Silas will be going on a West Coast tour prior to the release of DIVINE INVITATION on June 15th, 2004. Check out for more information on concert dates and the band. May our prayers continue to support the amazing emergence of amazing Christian bands.
