Following eight days of promotional visits, Rocketown recording artist Chris Rice debuted this week on SoundScan's Christian retail chart at No. 6 and on the combined chart at No. 10 with his first best of CD, Short Term Memories.

The 17-song collection contains four new tracks: two new recordings of previous releases (a live version of "Clumsy" and an acoustic "Untitled Hymn") and two previously unreleased songs ("Go Light Your World," a song Kathy Troccoli covered 10 years ago, and "Mama Prays").

Rice spent the last week traveling to Houston, Cleveland, Chicago, Birmingham and Minneapolis, among others, before concluding with a stop in his hometown of Nashville. Yesterday, Rice and labelmate Ginny Owens performed in front of nearly 3,000 fans who weathered an hour-long rain delay to hear the artists perform at a WAY-FM Brown Bag at the People's Church in Franklin, Tennessee.

Rice's current single, "Go Light Your World," is new and active at both AC and Inspirational formats.
