M.W. Smith Appearing on NBC for Rocketown 'Christian Night Club' Feature

Multi-Award Winning Dove and GRAMMY artist, Michael W. Smith will participate in national news NBC’s national morning show Weekend Today with Lester Holt and Campbell Brown, NBC Nightly News, and MSNBC this Sunday on June 27, 2004.

Don Teague, NBC’s correspondent will report on Michael W. Smith’s efforts of establishing faith-based ‘night clubs,’ featuring Smith’s Rocketown Club located in Nashville. These entertainment centers have served teens as hot spots and hang outs as an alternative to the drug and alcoholic-affiliated.

One of the nation’s growing clubs, Rocketown was founded by Michael W. Smith more than 10 years ago and is one of the most sought after venues in Nashville. Many artists and audiences alike favor the place for its stellar acoustics. Not only does the club offer popular music venue, it has a state of the art skate park, as well as the Empyrean coffee shop that some locals describe as have a similar setting of the one appearing on popular TV show "Friends."
