Rebbeca St. James Performs, Awarded at MovieGuide Awards

This past weekend, Rebecca St. James performed at the 12th Annual MovieGuide Faith & Values Awards which was aired on Family Net on Saturday, July 3 and re-aired Sunday, July 4. The event honored film and television industries on the FamilyNet television network

At the event, which honored film and television industries on the FamilyNet television network, the Grammy award-winning singer was honored for her performance in a film that was taped earlier this year in Hollywood. The film served as the musical finale for the event known as the “Christian Oscars.”

Annually, the MovieGuide Awards grants and recognizes the year’s Ten Best Family Films and presents the prestigious Epiphany Award for the Most Inspiring Movie. They honor works including films, television productions, producers, directors, writers, studio executives and creative talent that best extols moral values and Christian principles in the pursuit of entertainment.

Mark Steines, weekend host of Entertainment Tonight, and Leanza Cornett, former Miss America, co-hosted the hour-long telecast, which featured guest appearances by a trove of celebrities, including Chuck Norris, Gavin McLeod, Pat Boone and a rare appearance by screen legend Mickey Rooney.

In addition, Rebecca St. James held a concert, “Celebration Freedom," on Sunday in Los Angeles after which she left for Panama. She is expected to return later this month to resume a busy tour schedule throughout the summer and fall.

Family Net is a 24-hour network broadcasting to an estimated 80 million viewers.
