Many Samaritans from that city believed in him because of the woman's testimony. (John 4:39)
Natalia Komonova is a young Roma (Gypsy) woman from the Bulgarian village of Georgi Damjanovo. She committed her life to Christ in 1996 after listening to Words of Hope programs in the Balkan Romani dialect. Within a year Natalia had planted the first Christian congregation in her village. Initially the house church met in a room above Natalia's apartment. The congregation recently constructed a new church building near Natalia's apartment. She reports:
Because of the new church building, a lot of new people joined us. Many who attended our dedication service had never before seen the inside of an evangelical church. Some have stayed and are coming to our meetings. Honestly, I didn't think that our congregation would grow so fast and so big. But, of course, we had our prayers for the new building and God answered them.
In two nearby villages, believers from Natalia's congregation have planted a pair of daughter churches. Her zeal has produced a harvest like that of the Samaritan woman in John 4: "Many ... from that city believed in him because of the woman's testimony."
Prayer: We praise you, O Lord, for faithful witnesses like Natalia.
