How Can the Holy Spirit Help Me to Be Faithful?

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control . . . Galatians 5:22-23

Do you keep your promises? A faithful person is someone you can depend on and who keeps his promises. God always keeps His promises. He is faithful. When you trust the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, His Holy Spirit wants to produce the fruit of faithfulness in your life. Faithfulness means to be true to God in your thoughts, words and actions. The Bible says, "The one [God] who calls you is faithful and he will do it"

(1 Thessalonians 5:24).

As God develops the fruit of faithfulness in your life, others will see it in what you do and say. They will notice that you keep your promises. They know that you do things on time and to the best of your ability. They will notice that you put God first in everything you do. Most importantly, God will notice your faithfulness and He will be pleased. When God sees that you are faithful with a few things, He will put you in charge of many things (Matthew 25:21).

When you keep your promises, you are allowing the fruit of faithfulness to be seen in your life. Will you be someone others depend on and trust?
