DURHAM, N.C.--A faith-based business is introducing “Digital Evangelism”, a term coined by 21 ministry co-founder Jason Song to describe using technology to aid evangelism efforts. Yesterday, 21 ministry announced its recent multimedia campaigns on behalf of churches: Bethel Assembly of God Church, in Portsmouth, N.H.; Mountain View Church of the Nazarene in Tumwater, Wash.; and Faith Community Lutheran Church and Mount Charleston Baptist Church, both located in Las Vegas, Nev.

This list shows the growing number of churches demanding the cutting-edge service to promote their churches. Presbyterian Church U.S.A. and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary already benefit from the ministry’s services.

The type of outreach possibilities open to those considering using digital evangelism as part of their outreach tools can be seen most recently during last Christmas. Churches handed out multimedia CD-Roms to church visitors. The CD included original praise music and background on the story of Christmas, and incorporated custom information about each church, its ministry and particular mission.

"We enjoyed the Christmas CDs and felt they were a good ministry outreach," said Susan Greene, Mount Charleston Baptist Church. "We handed them out after our Christmas Eve candlelight service and our members all commented on them and felt they were a good tool."

Lakeview Church has also found the digital services helpful during last year’s Easter Season to publicize their church events and activities.

"The mini CD-Rom developed last year for Lakeview Church was an excellent way for our membership department to distribute information about our ministries during special Easter services," said Rev. Joshua Kang, Lead Pastor of Lakeview Church in Northbrook, Ill. "This innovative product helped attract the attention of visitors to our church and introduce them to our Web site."

Aside from holiday renditions of the evangelism CD’s, the company has produced custom digital multimedia throughout the year to help churches with evangelism and outreach efforts, and to enhance youth ministries. CD’s are customized to each church and usually include sermons, praise music, video of pageants and youth skits, among other uses. Each CD serves as an in-depth profile of each church to seekers around the world.
