A massive revival for men is what Promise Keepers’ “Uprising: The Revolution of a Man’s Soul” conferences are bringing to cities nationwide.

At the latest stop in Memphis, Tenn., 7000 men declared that they were “ready to join the revolution.” The men also declared, “Together with my brothers, I am determined to turn (my) world upside down.”

This time, Promise Keepers reported that attendees brought an estimated 3000 pounds of food for the Memphis Urban Mission, the shelter and substance abuse counselors for homeless men in downtown Memphis since 1945.

The “Uprising” conferences have gained so much popularity that the next event on July 30-31, 2004 at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind. has sold out. However, tickets are available for the following conference at Philips Arena in Atlanta on August 6-7, 2004.

Promise Keepers has announced its conference plans for 2005. The international men’s minsitry will hold 20 events for men, called “The Awakening,” including Fayetteville, Ark. (June 10-11, 2005) and Nashville, Tenn. (August 12-13, 2005). Early registration for 2005 “Awakening” conferences is only available on site at 2004 “Uprising” events.

Since its inception in 1990, Promise Keepers has reached more than 5.5 million men encouraging them to live godly lives and to keep seven basic promises of commitment to God, their families, fellow men, and communities.
