Christian Festival Aims to Unite Campus Ministries

Oct 21, 2004 05:09 PM EDT

On Thursday, Oct 21, the Unison festival will take place in Atlanta, George. The festival begins at 6:30pm in the vicinity of the University of Georgia.

According to Amantha Claxton, prayer intern for the University Wesley Foundation, Unison is a union of some 40 campus ministries and local churches to "unite the Christian community on the UGA campus and in the Athens area."

The festival will feature worship, prayer, gospel music and tips given to ministries leaders on how to co-work to bring Christians together.

Meanwhile, stacks of ministries flyers are prepared to be handed out to students at the festival night. Georgia football head coach Mark Richt is scheduled to deliver a speech prior to musical performances.

Unison will serve as a campus-wide network unifying many Christian organizations for the first time on the campus of UGA. If the festival succeeded in creating a coalition of Christian organizations, unison event will revisit the campus again in 2005.
