THE New bishop of the Church of Uganda Diocese of South Rwenzori, Jackson Nzerebende, is to be enthroned on July 6.
The diocesan secretary for education and communications, the Rev. Julius Kithaghenda, said the ceremony would cost over sh52m.
Nzerebende will replace retired bishop Zebedee Masereka, who has served the diocese since its creation from the Diocese of Rwenzori in 1984.
Sources at the diocesan headquarters at Kamaiba in Kasese town said President Yoweri Museveni was expected to be chief guest at the function.
"There is no confirmation yet from State House. We hope the President will come," the source said.
