Bookstore to Send Audio Bibles to China

New York - The Rock Christian Bookstore in New York announced that plans to contribute 10,000 audio Bibles in MP3-format to China’s mainland.

These Bibles will be distributed through missionaries and believers attending "The 2007 Gospel for China Conference," an evangelical gathering to be held in late Dec. in Hong Kong.

This marks the first time that believers in China will receive MP3-format Bibles, says Yang Tao, director of Rock Christian Bookstore.

She added that since illiterate peasants constitute a major part of China’s population of 1.3 billion, the MP3-format Bibles will allow many people easier access to the word of God.

“It is good news to peasant brothers and sisters without the ability to read and write,” Yang continued.

“Believers can proclaim the Gospel to people around them through playing the MP3 Bibles, which is very beneficial to spreading the good news and building the spiritual life of believers.”

Each audio Bible package is compiled in Taiwan, at the cost of USD $5. Yang told Gospel Herald that she welcomes the participation and support of sisters and brothers who are interested in being involved.
