According to Kensington Palace, the first portraits of Prince William, Duchess Kate and the little prince George were taken by his grandfather, Michael Middleton, in a backyard setting.

The photos were taken earlier this month at the Middleton family home in Bucklebury, a village in Berkshire, England.

The photographs of Prince George, who was born on 22 July, were released by Kensington Palace.

In a CNN interview Monday morning, Prince William, 31, said he thinks it's nice that people are so interested in seeing his newborn son.

"As any parent knows, you're only too happy to show off your new child and, you know, proclaim that he's the best-looking or the best everything," he said.

"He's a little bit of a rascal, I'll put it that way." William said in his first interview since George was born.

"He either reminds me of my brother or me when I was younger, I'm not sure, but he's doing very well at the moment."
