Sep 05, 2013 04:05 AM EDT

The NFL 2013 season kicks off tonight when the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens take on the Denver Broncos from Sports Authority Field at Mile High. The game is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EST and will be broadcasted on NBC nationally.

It will be a rematch of their 2013 AFC divisional round encounter, which the Ravens won 38-35 in double overtime.

Ravens QB Joe Flacco and Broncos QB Peyton Manning are two of the most respected quarterbacks in the league. Flacco will be looking to live up to the six-year, $120.6 million contract he signed after throwing 11 touchdowns and no interceptions in the playoffs. Including postseason, he's thrown for 956 yards with six TDs and one pick while going 3-1 against the Broncos.

As for Manning, after missing the 2011 season to recover from neck surgery, he threw 37 TDs and recorded a 105.8 passer rating in his first year in Denver.

Manning passed for 290 yards and three TDs against Baltimore in the playoffs, but was intercepted twice and sacked three times.

The winner of this positional matchup will not only determine the outcome of the game, but will proceed to build momentum as they guide their respective team toward a title.

NBC Sports will present their first “Sunday Night Football” game live on TV and online, although it starts on a Thursday. Fans can also enjoy the game live online by using the NBC Sports Live Extra site or by subscription to the NFL online package.
