USA -- A church in Georgia is the one-thousandth congregation to join the Global Priority Network. That's the Southern Baptist International Mission Board's program that sets a high priority on taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth. GP Net was started four year ago. Through special conferences, e-mails, phone calls and regular bulletins, GP Net churches learn about what God's doing in the world and find ways to strengthen their involvement. Pray that more churches will join.
USA -- Operation Blessing's faith-based grant award will target hunger relief across America. The grant is part of President Bush's community and faith-based initiative known as the 'Compassion Capital Fund'. Operation Blessing will use the monies to train and equip a network of 120 smaller relief groups across the United States. Their goal is to better meet the physical and spiritual needs of impoverished families and individuals.
