Downton Abbey Season 5 Episode 8 Spoilers: The Wedding And More

Feb 18, 2015 02:42 PM EST

In reading episodes and plot summaries of Downton Abbey Season 5, Episode 8, there is apparently going to be a lot going on.  So much so that it is difficult to keep track of any consistencies, but this is what we know as far as Spoilers for Downton Abbey Season 5, Episode 8.

The wedding of Atticus and Rose is apparently where most of the action will take place, as the family is going to London .  On Season 5 Episode 7 of the popular TV series, Atticus (Matt Barber) and Rose (Lily James) got engaged. According to the imdb summary, Atticus will have a "stag night" on episode 8, and he will be tricked into appearing shirtless with a prostitute in a photograph.  Unfortunately, that print is going to be sent to Rose, in an attempt to sabotage the wedding.

How the photo gets sent to Rose is probably going to be the big reveal, as the International Business Times reports "someone tries to derail Rose and Atticus' happiness".  From what it looks like, it is Susan (Phoebe Nicholls) who goes to such great lengths to separate Rose and Atticus, who have differing religions.

In fact, Susan will share that she and her husband Shrimpie (Peter Egan) are essentially keeping up appearances, and disapproves of the wedding as much as Lord Sinderby (James Faulkner).  In fact, Sinderby will be suspected of sabotaging the wedding, but Shrimpie knows it is Susan.  Even though Shrimpie doesn't tell Rose this information, she figures it out for herself.

Apparently the wedding of Rose and Atticus will proceed as planned, but then have a twist afterward as Anna (Joanne Froggatt) and John (Brendan Coyle) are summoned to appear at Scotland Yard.  It is here that they are told that Mr. Green was a sexual predator.  Mr. Green's murder investigation has been a constant source of trouble on this family, so it is probably going to come into play in this episode.  In Season 5, Episode 7 John and Anna decided not to worry about the murder investigation anymore.  As usual, things cannot stay peaceful for this family, and Anna will be arrested.

Also on episode 8 will be a confession from Prince Kuragin (Rade Sherbedgia).  He will tell Violet (Maggie Smith) that he loves her and wishes to remain with her rather than locate his missing wife.

The International Business Times also reports that Lord Grantham (Hugh Bonneville) "has a revelation".  This particular epiphany might be related to Marigold, who Edith (Laura Carmichael) claims is a friend's child that they couldn't care for any longer.  The imdb summary states that the episode will end with most of the others returning to Downton for the unveiling of the war memorial, and Robert working out for himself Marigold's parentage.  Perhaps a final twist is in store?

Downton Abbey Season 5, Episode 8 will air this Sunday, February 22 at 9 PM EST on PBS.   This isn't going to be the last we see of Downton Abbey this year as imdb reveals A Moorland Holiday (Episode 9 of Season 5) will be the next episode of this family, and we reported about that holiday special already
