'Fear the Walking Dead,' the companion series of the popular The Walking Dead series, will debut on AMC in August with an initial six-episode first season, confirmed creator Robert Kirkman in an interview with Fangoria.

Kirkman said that the first season of Fear of the Walking Dead would feature more chaotic and crazier scenes than the first season of The Walking Dead because it will have a metropolitan setting and depicts how the civilization crumbles as the story goes along.

"Since FEAR THE WALKING DEAD is set in Los Angeles, there's probably going to be more chaos in the first season and moving into the second season just because we are going to watch civilization crumble. There is a tremendous amount going on and the story is going to move very quickly, so I anticipate FEAR THE WALKING DEAD is going to be more hectic than the first season of THE WALKING DEAD," Kirkman said during the interview.

But he clarified that the prequel Fear the Walking Dead, would be very much different from the original The Walking Dead series. Both series will have different settings and distinct storylines, he said. Fear the Walking Dead will be shot digitally while the original The Walking Dead is shot on film, Kirkman added.

Kirkman also hinted fans of the original The Walking Dead should expect something big for the next season. According to Kirkman, the producers of The Walking Dead are preparing an epic story for the sixth season.

Also in the interview, Kirkman pointed out that he and the producers of The Walking Dead have not ruled out the possibility of launching another limited spin-off of the popular series, although he said they still not made a decision yet on the issue.

He went on to say, "There's always a possibility for [a limited event spin-off], and I certainly wouldn't rule it out even though I can say there are no current plans to do that. I think everyone is working hard on THE WALKING DEAD and FEAR THE WALKING DEAD to make them the best series they can be, and I think everyone's happy with their work since we're all doing our jobs. I'm really excited for FEAR THE WALKING DEAD to debut in August and for people to see just what we've done, but we're not in a hurry to continue expanding the world of THE WALKING DEAD... So let's see how FEAR THE WALKING DEAD goes first and then we'll have nine spin-offs, and that'll be great."
