PlayStation Plus Free Games for June and July 2015: Is 'Rocket League' On The Way?

Jun 22, 2015 04:47 PM EDT

PlayStation Plus subscribers always anxiously await when their free games will be announced for the month.  We have already seen the lineup for the PS4, PS3, and PlayStation Vita for June 2015, and it is only a question of what and when will be available for free in July of 2015.  As for the when, it could arrive a little late this time, but there have been some suppositions on what games will be available.

According to Product Reviews, gamers are, of course, very excited to see what PlayStation games will be offered for free with their Playstation Plus subscription.  They report from the predictions threads on a recent Reddit forum that the usual requests are in place, such as Knack and Killzone Shadow Fall

There is also a surprisingly high demand for a multiplayer arcade racer known as Rocket League.  This one might actually be a true rumor as Rocket League's release date to the PS4 will be July 7th.  This will be the first Tuesday of the month (arriving as late as it can), which means that new PS Plus content will show up around that time.

In the meantime, you should enjoy the PlayStation Plus Free Games for June 2015:

For the PS4, there are two options with one being Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PS4).  Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is part of a sub-series of prequels in the Metal Gear series, which takes place after Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.  This game follows the protagonist Snake as he infiltrates an American black site in Cuba called Camp Omega, to attempt to rescue a Cipher agent named Paz Ortega Andrade and a former Sandinista child soldier Richardo "Chico" Valenciano Libre.

The other PS4 option is Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-A-Fide Edition.  According to the official website, this is a fast-paced, turn-based strategy game where players meet and can join forces with vibrant ghost-samurai warriors, magical animal monks, and mustachioed samurai generals on the way to capture the Skulls of the Shotgun.  The Bone-A-Fide Edition of the game has a lot more campaigns, multi-player maps, and characters.

Games available for the PS Vita and the PS4 include Super Exploding Zoo and Futuridium EP Deluxe.  According to the official game website, Super Exploding Zoo is about some aliens who land on a planet in the Zoo System to feast on delicious eggs, only to find that everything on the zoo explodes, including the animals, concession stands, and the tufts of grass.  The object is to blow up the aliens in this brand new game.

As for Futuridium EP (Extended Play), this is a game where the player flies through some interesting obstacles at incredible speeds in an arcade/space/shooter.  It is an indie game that has a definite Star Fox influence.

The PS3 games that are available include The Call of Juarez: Gunslinger and Cloudberry Kingdom.  The Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is a western first-person shooter game that is fourth in the Call of Juarez series.  This iteration focuses on the life story of a bounty hunter named Silas Greaves with three unique game modes of story, arcade, and duel.

As for Cloudberry Kingdom, that is a platform game that uses algorithms to create procedurally generated levels that adapt to a player's skill level, in-game character abilities, and the alteration of game physics.

So PlayStation Plus subscribers can enjoy those free games for the month of June, even E3 2015 didn't reveal anything new for the month of July as yet.
