Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse is something that fans of the franchise really latched on to when it was released back in February.  The final DLC pack was released, giving players all kinds of new characters and other types of bonuses as well.  The latest Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse News and Updates reveal that there is a Tournament underway.

According to VG 24/7, Dragon Ball Xenoverse players are invited to compete in an online tournament to determine the world champion.  So far, the Dragon Ball Xenoverse World Tournament is in beta, which will allow the participants to practice before the preliminaries kick off on August 25th

This tournament is open to players all across the United States, Japan, and Europe on all platforms: PC, Xbox One, and PS4.  Both existing and original characters are permitted to fight, with eligibility for the finals to be determined by points earned in the preceding weeks.  The points will be marked in-game with a special title, with a grand final held on September 12th, and matches posted on YouTube.  As for more rules, regulations, and price info, check out the official Dragon Ball Xenoverse Tournament website

If you haven't received the Final DLC pack for Dragon Ball Xenoverse, it is available now.  According to Geek Snack, the pack includes four new playable characters including Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Vegeta, Golden Frieza, and Jaco the Galactic Patrolman.  If those names sound long and unfamiliar to you, don't feel bad.  The first three characters will appear in the new Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F movie, while Jaco has his own series.  By the way costumes inspired by the Dragon Ball Z:  Resurrection F movie were also announced in the DLC pack, and they have been released for free for everyone days before the DLC was released worldwide.

In addition to the new playable characters, the DLC pack includes 5 new Parallel Quests, 2 new Masters, 8 new Masters Quests, 14 new Special Movies, 2 new Accessories and 7 Z-Souls which can be used to customize the player created character.

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse, otherwise known as Dragon Ball XV, the player can create his or her own character much like those in popular MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) games.  This custom character is essentially put in as a Time Patroller in order to stop a group of time travelers who want to mess up key elements from the Dragon Ball storyline.  This makes the gameplay interesting and also a love letter to its fans, and the player is fully customizable and can be one of five different alien races.

Dragon Ball XV is both an MMO and a fighting game.  The fighting involves characters who have to do a series of special moves, and Dragon Ball is famous for epic fight scenes on a massive scale where characters defy gravity and shoot mammoth rays of energy at each other.  Unlike a lot of fighting games in the past, the special moves are easier to select, but there is no training option.

For those that don't know much about Dragon Ball's legacy, it was originally adapted from a manga created by Akira Toriyama, who published this saga in Weekly Shonen Jump in the eighties.  Dragon Ball was then made into an anime series, and then a sequel called Dragon Ball Z.  The story is about Goku, a boy who is trying to obtain the seven Dragon Balls, and it is very massive in its storyline and battle scenes.
