It's girl power in season 9 as The Voice is stocking up superstars, including Missy Elliott and Selena Gomez, Rihanna and of course the return of Gwen Stefani as one of the four coaches. Other superstars expected to provide more excitement in the next season of the reality music singing competition, includes John Fogerty and Brad Paisley.

A report by Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that hip hop star Missy Elliott will team up with judge Pharrell Williams' team and serve as an advisor for the ninth season.

The report added that Elliott would be joining the show as she puts together her seventh studio album. This will not be the first time Missy Elliott and Williams will work together. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon in April, Williams disclosed he was in the studio with Elliott and at June's ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards. Elliott will be releasing a Williams-produced single in the near future.

In the next season of NBC's The Voice, the 23-year-old Gomez will team up with Stefani as her advisor, Rihanna will be the show's key advisor, reported Christian Post. The Good for You singer, 23-year-old, Gomez said is already a fan favorite.

"She was surprisingly amazing as a mentor even though she's so young. She exceeded everyone's expectations," Us Weekly reported.

Stefani commented on having Gomez as her advisor, "It's just incredible to me to think of somebody that's been doing it since they were a child, like it's hard to understand it." She adds, "The dedication and the years that she's put in and to only be so young but have so much experience is kind of incredible."

Gomez started out as a child performer in the hit children's series Barney & Friends. She was also one of the mainstays at Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place, where she gained her fame. Gomez released her latest single Good for You this summer as a preview to her upcoming album Revival, which is due for an Oct. 9 release.

"It's so fun being on the show. It's so inspiring," Stefani said of her return as one of the four coaches.

For her part, Gomez commented, "I'm learning a lot being here. I've been in a transition period with my music, so it is, like [Gwen] said, inspiring.  I love being in the presence of women, especially women who are so comfortable in their own skin and support other women."

She added she was happy to join the show as an advisor "I always feel like when I'm in the presence of someone older than me I have this respect and I love that I can learn. I want to learn from people, I want to be around women who are, you know, nurturing and care and smart and creative."

Award-winning country singer Blake Sheldon will be getting fresh support by fellow legendary country artist Brad Paisley to give advice to his team. Coach Adam Levine will be partnered with Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater. The partnership should be a breeze as Levine is a self-confessed classic rock fan, and Fogerty, well, in a rock band.

The Voice Season 9 will start airing on September 21 on NBC.
