Jeremy 'Linsanity' Lin made a big splash when he was introduced as the New York Knicks' rookie point guard in the NBA in 2012. His strong presence on the court helped coined the phenomenon "Linsanity."

However, the Linsanity craze soon died out and his dismal performance last season with the Los Angeles Lakers also dimmed hope for the basketball future of Lin.

Now, donning a new uniform with the Charlotte Hornets, the 27-year-old point guard and devout Christian, has asked his fans to "pray for one another" as he also promised to start praying for them.

Lin sent an email to an online prayer group he established in 2014, Jeremy thanked his fans for their continued support and faith in him. Lin praised the fans for being" such an awesome prayer support group. He wrote in the email titled, Jeremy Lin Prayer Requests 11" that the next prayer request email "will be a collection of prayer requests sent in by YOU guys!"

Praise Charlotte reported that the prayer requests were emailed to Lin until Tuesday, Sept. 22. He also called on his fans to include his younger brother, Joseph in their prayers. Joseph has embarked on his basketball career in Taiwan. Linsanity also prays that Joseph to always seeks God wholeheartedly and does not allow success or failure to come between him and God.

Previously, proud Christian Lin said he was praying for a smooth transition as he moved to his new team, the Charlotte Hornets for the 2015-2016 NBA season.

In a prayer request sponsored by the Jeremy Lin Foundation, Jeremy of the Linsanity fame, said, "As the offseason is winding down, here are some prayer requests going into next season: Prayer for a smooth transition as I move to Charlotte and get settled in there. Also that I would really connect with my teammates and coaches quickly."

In his official web site, Lin offered his fans some words of encouragement and hope they will also allow Jesus Christ to be in the center of their lives. He said, "I'm hoping that I can really strengthen my prayer life and take it to another level.  Prayer is an act of submission and humility, and I want to have random prayers throughout the day be more instinctual."

Linsanity is Backup Point Guard for Hornets

Meanwhile, Australia Network reported that Lin is working double time to improve on his performance as the new backup point guard for the Charlotte Hornets in the team's campaign this 2015-2016 NBA season.

Jeremy Lin seems to be focusing harder on his performance with his new Charlotte Hornets squad. Lin was introduced as the new point guard of the Charlotte Hornets earlier this July.

Fans of Linsanity are hoping that his transfer to the Hornets will resurrect his old skills, particularly his marvelous shooting techniques and three pointers, the trademark of the Linsanity fame.

"Lin seems very excited about his new team and if he keeps up his aggression and smart strategies, he will probably turn out to be one of the key scorers of the team and create his impact as effectively as before," the report said.
