MacBook Air, Macbook Pro 2016 Release Date, Rumors; Don’t Expect a New MacBook For 2015 But New iMacs

It was interesting that last month, when Apple revealed the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, and iPad Pro, the company did not take the time to reveal the latest in laptop technology.  Yes, there were a lot of products being announced, and it is possible that there could easily be two big announcements during the fall, but there are a lot of rumors about the Macbook Pro and MacBook Air for 2016.  It doesn't look like there will be a new Apple laptop, but there is a new iMac.

The Latino Post has noted that older models of the Apple laptop are going on sale.  Generally, a sale of the current model is made to get some profits in before the next model comes out.  Unlike the updates to the iPhones and iPads, there is no word on if Apple is planning some other big event before the holiday season really begins in November.

This would mean that the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air probably won't have a release date until 2016.  So what can be expected of the new Apple laptops? For starters, the new Macbook Air and the MacBook Pro will have an improved battery. From a manufacturer and a consumer standpoint, that just makes sense.  If Apple can make an improved battery, then it just makes sense that they should.  Their audience is waiting for some improvement and would upgrade on just a new battery alone.

There are also rumors it could have that new Intel Skylake processor, which is the same one that Microsoft put in their new versions of the Surface, as well as another Apple product.

If you are looking for something new from Apple, you should know that they have quietly updated their iMac line, according to Macworld.  These include a 27 inch iMac with Retina 5K in three different models, as well as two models of non-Retina 21.5 inch iMac and an all-new 21.5 inch iMac with Retina 4K display.  These new iMacs could have been unveiled at the September 9th big announcement, and it is curious as to why Apple didn't announce them then.

Of course, Apple is one company that doesn't play by the rules, as they will often announce their devices not at big tech trade shows like CES or Mobile World Congress.  They will often announce products on their own timetable, but generally in time for the holiday season.

It would not be any surprise if the company holds another big announcement this year, but with the iPhone and iPad out of the way, it seems odd for them to hold an entire other big event on a new MacBook Pro or MacBook Air for the 2015 holiday season when their new iPad Air was just quietly announced.  If two announcements were to happen, wouldn't it have made more sense to announce the new iPhones with the MacBook or iMac, and then announce the new iPad with whatever MacBook or iMac product didn't get announced the first time?

Perhaps Apple is taking a break from the laptop market, as Mircosoft's Surface series is about to really signal a new phase for laptops. However, it is not like Apple to allow another company to dominate their products, which already have a steady following.  So if you had to make a bet, bet on a new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air some time in 2016.
