New Huawei G7 Plus Specs and Price Set to Give High-End Smartphones a Run for Their Money

Chinese phone maker Huawei has introduced its upper-mid-range handset, the new Huawei G7 Plus, with excellent specifications and exceptional designs that will give high-end smartphones a run for their money.

While the Huawei G7 Plus does not boast itself as top-not flagships smartphones, like the Apple iPhone, Sony Xperia series, Motorola Moto, etc., the new handset has plenty to offer to budget-conscious consumers, said Tech Times.

The new Huawei G7 Plus comes in gray, silver and gold colors with a metallic body, according to Bill Insider. The successor of the Ascend G7 is topped with 2.5D Gorilla Glass. It also boasts being identical to the G8 except for its external storage which is 128GB instead of 64GB.

It has a 64-bit enabled Snapdragon 615 Octacore SoC processor clocked at 1.5GHx each. The G7 Plus also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner beneath the camera for privacy and easy access purposes.  The primary camera has a dual-tone LED flash, optical image stabilization, sapphire lens, RGBW sensor, and wider aperture. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies. The G7 plus has all standard connectivity features such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.  Furthermore, it also supports dual-SIM functionality.

The dimensions are 152.5 mm x 76.5 mm x 7.5 mm with a 5.5-inch full HD display (1080p and weighs 167 grams.  The phone has a Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, and an Accelerometer.  The G7 Plus might get overshadowed by Nexus 6P, but it shows an array of exciting features of its own.  The smartphone can withstand 48 hours of standby mode and draws power from a 3,000mAh battery.  It is slated to update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in February of next year, according to GSM Arena.  For now, the G7 Plus is available in Thailand and China.

The new smartphone is sporting 32 GB of expandable storage, dual-SIM support, 4G LTE and a large 3,000 mAh battery.

Tech Times said, "It may not be as high-end as the Huawei Nexus 6P flagship developed in collaboration with Google, but the Huawei G7 Plus is bound to attract plenty of interest of its own with this great combination of specs and affordability."

There have been no plans to launch the G7 Plus in any other countries as of yet.  The price of and the overall appeal of the phone is aimed at the middle range of the smartphone market.  The G7 Plus costs $330.
