Game developer EA Sports has recently released the official trailer to the sequel of mixed martial arts video game Ultimate Fighting Champion Part II (UFC 2).

Along with the release of the trailer, EA Sport also confirmed on Tuesday via its official Twitter account that the much-anticipated UFC 2 will be released next year. "The wait is finally over! Tune in tomorrow," as tweeted by the EA Sports official Twitter account.

And true to their promise, EA Sports posted again on Twitter announcing that UFC 2 would be officially released in the spring of 2016. "Announced earlier today, EA SPORTS UFC 2 launches Spring 2016!," EA tweets.

Reported IBTimes, "In a tweet sent by the official account of EA Sports, the company has confirmed that it will be releasing another UFC title, at a yet confirmed date. The tweet was accompanied by an image seen below. The image looks like a round card seen in actual UFC matches, and features the number 2, indicating the second title in the series."

Also, the game developer discussed plans for the much-awaited sequel to UFC. Since its debut, the first UFC was widely received with hours of gameplay, and so plans for a sequel were anticipated.

The UFC 2 trailer describes the new game, "EA SPORTS UFC 2 innovates with stunning character likeness and animation, adds an all new Knockout Physics System and authentic gameplay features, and invites all fighters to step back into the Octagon to experience the thrill of finishing the fight. From the walkout to the knockout, EA SPORTS UFC 2 delivers a deep, authentic, and exciting experience."

In a separate report, Bloody Elbow said that fans of the video game are appreciative of UFC as it is subjected to extra content after post-release. Some fighters added to the game post-launch include Brock Lesnar and Mark Coleman.

A mobile version of the game was also released by EA Sports which can be downloaded on iOS and Android devices since April this year and is free-to-play.

According to IGN, EA Sports has also provided details about the features to be expected in the fighting game for the upcoming UFC 2.

The development team behind UFC 2 "is bringing a host of new features to enhance and improve on the UFC formula, including unique animations for specific fighters, more realistic physics-driven reactions, new online and offline 'experiences, technique challenges and safe sparring to improve skill, and the deepest, most powerful fighter creation tools yet," the report added.

The game could not be released this year so confirming fans that the UFC series is not an annual title that relies on patches and updates.  Some fighters are included in the updates, and thus the game has good replay value and clamor for annual releases is abated. EA Sports is targeting to release UFC 2 on PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One in the Spring of 2016.
