The Walking Dead Season 6 Spoilers and Rumors; What Will Happen to Glenn When Negan Comes In?

In the recent The Walking Dead Season 6 episode known as "Thank You", there was an ending that left a lot of fans wanting more.  The issue was the fate of Glenn, as there was not quite a confirmed death.  There was no answer on Glenn's fate in the next episode, and a recent casting choice has given rise to rumors that Glenn will live, but only for a while until Negan shows up.

As warned in the headline, this article will have spoilers.  About two weeks ago, characters Nicholas and Glenn were stuck together on top of a dumpster, surrounded by a horde of walkers.  Nicholas decided to end his life by shooting himself in the head, and then they both fell into a mob of undead.  The last shot of the two has Glenn presumably getting himself eaten alive, but many sources, like at CinemaBlend, contend that Nicolas fell on top of Glenn, and the walkers are eating Nicolas and not Glenn.  Most will say that Glenn probably found a way to get his body underneath the dumpster, and he is essentially safe and sound until he will reveal himself to be alive on a later episode.

If you are familiar with the source material, there is a lot to support that theory.  The Walking Dead is based on the graphic novel series, and although there has been some differences between the comic books and the television show, much of the journey storyline with Rick Grimes and his band of survivors has been loosely followed.

In the comic book, Glenn dies at the hands of Negan, a villain introduced in issue 100 of the series.  Negan is essentially the leader of some plunderers, and he is psychopathic and dangerous as a leader of a fallen society.  Negan beats Glenn with a baseball bat in front of Rick and his friends, as revenge for what Rick and his friends did to Negan's men.  It was a very tragic moment in the comic book series, and it seems like the television series would be wise to imitate it instead of letting Glenn die in the dumpster.

It has just been announced that Jeffrey Dean Morgan, an actor known for playing The Comedian in Watchmen, another comic-book movie adaptation, has been cast as the role of Negan.  According to USA Today, there isn't any word when he will appear, and it could be this season, or perhaps Season 7 or Season 8.

The fact that he has been cast will take Rick's group into a whole new level as they eventually went to war against Negan and his group, the Saviors, in the comic book.  Season 6 is currently focusing on the Wolves and the Alexandria Safe Zone, and it is possible that Negan will show up and offer his "protection".  Perhaps Season 6 will end on a very tragic yet strong note as Negan kills Glenn.

Of course, the show could deviate against the source material, but it has a way of having really tragic endings.  In Season 2, the group was looking or Sophia, only to find that she had become a zombie.  The similar event happened in Season 5 when they came to rescue Beth, found her alive, and then was killed seconds later.

In other words, The Walking Dead has a way of showing characters that should be dead showing up alive, but then still eventually dying.  If the show is following this formula, then you can count on Glenn turning up alive, only to be killed, at it will be at the hands of Negan.
