Even though the Nexus 6P has only been out in the market for a short while, there are already speculations that Huawei is now developing the successor already - Nexus 6 2016. This is a roundup of the speculations and rumors with regard the new phone, including its release date and possible price point.

Nexus 6 2016 is already making waves even though no official announcement on its existence has even been made. Through Gizmo China, Pan Jiutang, a Chinese electronics industry analyst claimed that Huawei will be behind the new Nexus 6 2016. In addition, users can expect that this new phone will be a high-performance handset running the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The analyst came to this conclusion because this seems to be the most logical move, given that the Nexus 6P is already running the top Snapdragon chip of 2015, the 810. The Snapdragon 820 is expected to have Adreno 530 GPU. This means it has 40 percent better performance and efficiency; something users would certainly want for their smartphones. The analyst also believes that the Nexus 6 2016 will have the X12 LTE modem, the Hexagon 680 DPS, and the Kyro CPU. All of these are designed to make the Nexus 6 2016 a top-performing phone.

According to PCAdvisor UK, Nexus 6 is expected to be a phablet, or a phone and tablet in one primarily because of its size. The current 6P is already sporting a 5.7 in Quad-HD display, and the Nexus 6 is unlikely to have a smaller display than this.

According to Yibada, because one of the speculated features of Android N is that it has native support for split screen view, it is highly likely too that the Nexus 6 2016 will be able to support multiple windows.

PCAdvisor UK also asserted that a brand new operating system will be incorporated for the Nexus 6 2016. For now, this is only known as the Android N. Additionally, it is highly likely that the new Nexus 6 2016 will have a USB-C for data transfer and charging. The charging time is expected to be more reduced than the time it takes to charge the 6P.

When it comes to the release date, it seems logical that it would be released around Oct 2016. Past trends serve as evidence. The 6P was announced at the end of September 2015 while the Nexus 6 before it was announced in Oct 2014. For its price, people can only speculate. Because the Nexus 6P starts at £449, it is not likely that the Nexus 6 2016 will start at a lower price.
