The Charlotte Hornets are slowly starting to show promise this NBA season. With the entry of Jeremy Lin into the roster, the basketball team has been revitalized. Apart from his skills and leadership in the hardwood court, the former Los Angeles Lakers star also saw himself initiating prayer groups to boost the spirits of his teammates. However, the Charlotte Hornets now find in danger of facing the rest of the season without Lin.

Sources disclosed that Lin's lower back hindered him from participating in the practice sessions of the Charlotte Hornets. He was also listed as questionable in their match against the Golden State Warriors on Monday (January 4) due to his sprained ankle. The tightness in his lower back and his ankle issues, however, failed to prevent Lin from playing with his team. Mere hours before the tip-off, the Charlotte Hornets included the former New York Knicks star in the starting lineup. He replaced Nicolas Batum, who incurred a toe injury.

Meanwhile, Lin shared that his move to Charlotte considerably eased the burden brought about by stress in his life.

"When the free agency time came around, we had done a lot of homework and research before that to see what the potential best fits were," Lin said of his decision to sign with the Charlotte Hornets, according to Xinhua.net. He added, "Of all the final options, I felt very confident in Charlotte, I'm just happy to be here."

Before signing with his current team, he had been part of the rebuilding efforts of the Los Angeles Lakers where he worked closely with Kobe Bryant. He was also a member of the New York Knicks roster as well as the Stephen Curry squad - the Golden State Warriors. Even the Houston Rockets was once a home to Lin. On July 9, 2015, he eventually opted to sign with the Charlotte Hornets. Lin's two-year contract with the NBA team is worth $4.4 million.

Lin also shared that the past year provided him with better perspective especially regarding dealing with his professional concerns. He said, "I think I grew a lot as a person, I learned a lot about myself. I took steps in terms of slowing down and appreciating life instead of being so fixated on what I wanted to accomplish."

The NBA star also learned to become more aware of the things he has in life at the moment as well as to appreciate his accomplishments. Lin revealed that his current motto is to live life to the fullest every day.

"I'm just taking it one day at a time; that's just a part of me. Trying to enjoy each day," he said. "I'm just having fun with it. A lot of my friends and family have requested that I do something in a certain city or in a certain game. I'm going to keep work at some of the things I want to get better at and enjoy every day for what it's worth."
