America has always been the home of muscle cars. Now, we'll take a look at the two of the most powerful cars on the market. Let's see who has the edge in terms of specs, price, engine and over-all look. Which is the best muscle car? Is it the 2016 Chevy Camaro SS or the 2016 Ford Mustang GT?

Let's take a look at 2016 Chevy Camaro SS first. Recently, the car bagged this year's "Motor Authority Best Car to Buy 2016". Motor Authority editors reviewed the most ferocious cars in the market to tell which one is the best. After a series of test drives and analysis, they agreed 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS is the best muscle car to buy.

The pumped-up 2016 Camaro is armed with a  LTI V-8 that runs on 455 horsepower and identical numbers when it comes to torque, 455 lb-ft.

Engineers of Chevrolet used the best materials available in the market to build the Camaro SS. The car has Cadillac-sourced pieces, which can be found on its body structures and steering gear. Its multi-link suspension wears the first-ever magnetic dampers from Chevrolet. This feature helps the car to skim over the road instead of pummeling over dangerous stretches of pavement.

Have a peace of mind while driving the 2016 Chevy muscle car, thanks to its alert safety system. The car has a standard rear vision camera, which is helpful to eliminate blind spots and prevent road accidents.

The base price of the Camaro is $25,700 before shipping charges and other features.

On other hand, let's check the 2016 Ford Mustang GT. The new muscle car from Ford boasts an ear filling, earth rumbling 5.0-litre V8 engine. The company also offers a more fuel-efficient 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine option to help it compete with other cars in the market. The engine of the 2016 Mustang is mounted in the middle, behind the seat to provide an ideal weight balance.

The new edition of Ford Mustang is built from a mixture of aluminum and carbon fiber materials, with the former making up the front and rear subframes, CNET published.

Furthermore, the car is equipped with state of the art infotainment system. It has Sync 3 system that features an 8-inch full colour touchscreen LCD display. This is backed by a nine-speaker surround audio system. The Sync 3 also features Applink, which can connect smartphone apps in the car.

According to Ford's official website, the price of 2016 Mustang GT starts at $32,395.
