With Gareth Edwards' "Star Wars" spin-off "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" coming to theaters this year, it has been revealed that its characters are aquatic in nature.

While the characters are associated with aquatics, details have been revealed on them. According to Making Star Wars, various factions in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" use codenames.

Felicity Jones, who is reportedly playing the role of Lyra Erso, is getting the codename Green Seal Leader. Jiang Wen's character is coded as Seal Communicator Blue while Forest Whitaker is codenamed as Eel Commander. The codename of Alan Tudyk's character is Seal Droid while the villains get codenames related as sharks.

According to Cinema Blend, seals are the good guys and refer to those people who are delegated to steal the plans for the first Death Star, which is part of the "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" premise. The film featuring red, blue, and green as three different Rebel factions also makes sense, as per the publication. On the other hand, the Eel faction represents the bounty hunters, which indicates that Whitaker's and Wen's characters belong to their faction. This is another possibility, since the skilled nature of the members in this faction permits the heist of the Death Star plans.

According to the report, the film will also feature a sequence where Jones and Diego Luna went into disguise, with Jones dressing up as an Imperial Gunner while Luna's character dresses up as an Imperial Commander in the film. This resembles a moment in "Star Wars: A New Hope," which is Gareth Edwards' favorite "Star Wars" installment.

Overall, the codenames given to the "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" actors provide fans a better grasp of the film plot and are yet to form the big picture soon.

In line with "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," it was previously reported that Boba Fett, one of the most terrifying bounty hunters in the galaxy, could make an appearance. An evidence leading to this speculation is a Toy Fair image that featured his ship, which has a notable change in color. As per rumors, the color change could be a form of disguise or evolution.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" serves as the first film in the "Star Wars" anthology series. It centers on the Rebels as they set out on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star. The film stars Jonathan Aris, Riz Ahmed, Donnie Yen, Ben Mendelsohn, Mads Mikkelsen, Luna, Tudyk, Wen, Whitaker, and Jones.

Edwards' "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on Dec. 16. Johnson's "Star Wars: Episode VII" is slated to premiere on Dec. 15, 2017 while Trevorrow's "Star Wars: Episode IX" hits theaters on May 24, 2019.
