Lego Marvel Avengers on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS is Most Popular Game of 2016

The mightiest superheroes of Marvel are moving to a new platform. The Avengers have enjoyed their reign in the box office these past few years, now watch how they save the world in the LEGO-themed game. LEGO Marvel's Avengers is now available on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in North America and Europe.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment recently launched the game on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in North America on 26th January 2016, and in Europe on 29th January 2016. The game follows the plotlines of the many films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition, gamers can choose in wide array of playable LEGO-ized Marvel superheroes, and it has free-roaming open world hub city.

LEGO Marvel's Avengers provides avid comic book fans with a massive amount of playable characters. Of course, the main stays of Marvel Cinematic Universe -- Captain America, Ironman, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow -- are included in the game. Moreover, their allies and foes -- Winter Soldier, Falcon, War Machine, Loki and Ultron-- are also playable characters.

Longtime Marvel fans can also expect the appearance of lesser-known characters of Marvel, such as Devil Dinosaur, The Collector, Fin Fang Foom, Crimson Dynamo etc., according to Heavy.

To make it more awesome, players will hear the voices of actors that portray The Avengers. The recorded voices of Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America) and others from the Marvel films are featured.

Furthermore, adventurous gamers will definitely love the game because of its open-world feature. Game director Steve Thornton explained that the "the design and art teams went above and beyond, pushing for a bigger and better city for players to explore." Thornton also added that the handheld version of the game has "no breaks, cuts or loading screens."

This open world hub city is first for the game's handheld version. Just like the setting of The Avengers movie, the location of the game is fully populated with traffic and pedestrian systems, props and Free Play content. Moreover, certain HUB locations give players a chance to select their favorite Marvel superhero and complete side missions or just run around breaking objects in order to collect more LEGO studs.

Additionally, in game's Nintendo 3DS version, players can collect vintage Captain America trading cards to have an access to Free Play storyline that features characters like Dr Strange, Moon Knight and Daredevil.

According to Metro.co.uk, Lego Marvel Avengers topped the UK sales chart on Jan. 30. The game is a certified big hit across all gaming platforms -- Xbox 360/PlayStation 3/Wii U/PlayStation4/PC/3DS/PSVita.
