Android 6.0 Marshmallow Release Date Update for Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge+, Note 5, Note 4, Note Edge, and S5 on Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, AT&T, and Sprint

The latest firmware from Google is now gradually rolling out to Samsung's flagship devices via OTA (over-the-air) update. For owners of Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in South Korea and Poland, expect to receive Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow anytime soon. With these developments, it appears that  it's just a matter of time before the firmware lands on other devices.

Here's the latest round of news about Android 6 Marshmallow update on Samsung S6, S6 Edge+, Note 5, Note 4, Note Edge, and S5 devices.

It is interesting to know that Samsung decided to skip Android 6.0 Marshmallow to their flagship devices. The company opted to install the latest version Android 6.0.1 Marshamallow to Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. So, it shows that the new firmware will slowly roll down to older gadgets.

According to Poland-based website Telepolis, Samsung Galaxy S6 model SM-G920F and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge model SM-G925F specifically receive the new firmware.

For other Samsung gadgets who will get Android M, International Business Times said Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge will receive the new operating system this month and Galaxy A8 in March. Moreover, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 are scheduled in April.

For people who are interested to update their own Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge on Android M, they can access the new firmware via OTA or Over-the-Air method. Ideally, they should receive a notification that their device is available for upgrade. However, some users are too excited to experience the features of Marshmallow OS.

Interested users can verify if the update is already available in their devices by simply going to the Settings menu. After that, select the About Device option and then tap System Updates and choose Check For Updates.

Recently, T-mobile announced its set of Samsung gadgets that are scheduled to receive Android M software. Those devices are Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Tab S2. As always, users are advised to wait for the notification that the update is available. The nofication will also provide instructions on how to download the new software.

As for the features of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, expect there are tons of upgrades, such as new set of emoji characters, new interface for the Edge screen settings and a new Tasks Edge panel to set shortcuts for apps.

In general, Android Marshmallow lets gadgets lovers experience a whole new operating system that has innovative apps, revamped security system and smooth interface.
