NFL Rumors: Green Bay Packers Eddie Lacy Weight Loss Ultimatum Works; Aaron Rodgers Eyes Jordy Nelson Return

The Green Bay Packers underwent a difficult NFL season in the past year. Aaron Rodgers, who was once confident of his support system, saw his team fall short as Eddie Lacy and Jordy Nelson became victims of health issues. For Lacy, the issue had been his weight gain - a fact that made him an ineffective running back in the gridiron. For Nelson, his devastating injury in the NFL offseason broke the hearts of the Green Bay Packers fans. This time, however, the football team appears to be turning things around.

The weight loss ultimatum issued by Mike McCarthy to Lacy seems to have reshifted the focus of the running back. Amid the vacation photos and nightouts of some football players this offseason, the Green Bay Packers star stood out with his intense workout and weight loss results. In a photo posted by __, who volunteered to help Lacy shake off his extra pounds, a lighter and better built NFL star shone.

"I saw a picture or two," commented McCarthy of Lacy and the latter's physical changes. He added, "He looked good. What'd you think?" The Green Bay Packers head coach further noted that the weight loss training of Lacy is "going well for him."

McCarthy went on to share that he believes Lacy will be in great shape soon as long as "he stays the course," adding that everything on the running back's end is "so far, so good." He added, "Eddie will take care of business. I have great confidence that he will. I think we'll see definitely a different guy in April, and more importantly in July."

In addition to Lacy, another member of the Green Bay Packers roster might be back in shape just in time for the next NFL season. Nelson, who tore his ACL in August last year, is reportedly up and running. While the medical experts are still cautious of his health, the wide receiver is said to look "great" as of late. Moreover, Nelson sounds confident of his return to great form soon.

"I know he's running," shared McCarthy of Nelson's status. He added, "He's ahead of schedule. He's pushing it. They have thresholds they try to cross each and every time, and he's never been behind on anything. He's pushing it, and he looks great."

Nelson echoed the same comments. He shared, "Things are great. Everything has gone smooth."

The wide receiver added, "Everyone keeps asking if I'm 100 percent. I'm 100 percent of what the doctor will let me do. The rest is unknown, but we're right where we want to be and will continue to progress once we get back to Green Bay in a week and a half."
