Shortly after the sixth season of "Pretty Little Liars" wrapped up, rumors about the show's end began to emerge. But, even though it is not yet clear when the mystery-thriller series will end, it seems it will happen soon since one of its main cast members is already preparing herself to leave her character behind.

That actress is Lucy Hale, who plays Aria Montgomery on the show. Hale, like her other main co-stars have been with the show since its first season premiered in 2010.

According to Hale, due to her work on "Pretty Little Liars," she has gotten accustomed to the feeling of associating herself with her on-screen character, which is why it's hard for her to leave the role behind.

"I've always seen myself in Aria," she said according to Just Jared Jr. "It's going to be weird when the show ends, because she's almost half of me in a way."

"People forget that I'm 26 and I'm not a teenager, so sometimes it takes people aback," Hale added. "When they find out my real age, they get it."

Hale started her acting career in 2005 through different television projects. She's also credited for appearing in various teen-centered films such as "The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2," "Sorority Wars," "Scream 4" and "A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song."

But, now that she's getting older, Hale noted that she wants to explore other projects that are more in-tune with her age.

"[The show has] been so good to me and I love playing Aria and I love the show, it's as plain as that," she told Vulture. "But as an actress I'm constantly wanting to grow and learn and do things that people aren't expecting of me, and I think I have a lot to offer."

"I'm ready to explore those areas and take risks on roles," Hale continued. "It's an easy problem to have to be typecast when you think about it; a quality problem."

As for the show, the seventh season is scheduled to premiere sometime this year. Although the exact release date of the first episode has not yet been announced, its filming is expected to kick off this month.
