The 12th season of the medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" is currently approaching its 16th episode and fans can expect to be treated to various twists and shockers. According to various sources, many of these involve some of the main characters of the series.
Readers, however, should keep in mind that this article contains spoilers regarding the upcoming episodes of the show.
According to Yibada, the future episodes of the current season will focus more on Jerrika Hinton, who plays neurosurgeon Dr. Stephanie Edwards. As revealed by the actress herself, even she was surprised after learning about what's in store for her character in the future.
Although she did not go into detail regarding which episode it will be, she noted that her character will be faced with a very difficult decision in an upcoming storyline.
"There's a plot point that happens close to the end of the season, where Stephanie makes a decision that I, as an actor, as a human being [would not make]," she said during an interview with Cosmopolitan. "I got on the phone with the writers a lot, and I was like, 'You're really having her do this?'"
It is not yet confirmed what decision Dr. Edwards will be facing in the show but it may have something to do with her relationship with Dr. Amelia Shephard, played by Caterina Scorsone.
"There are a few times coming up where we got the episode, and as we were filming, we were like, 'Oh my god, this feels like a breakup. Are we breaking up?' Our relationship feels that intimate now," Hinton noted.
But aside from Hinton, the other character that will be deeply affected in the future episodes include Dr. Miranda Bailey and Dr. Ben Warren, portrayed by Chandra Wilson and Jason George respectively, Cater Matt reported.
In a plot summary reported by Spoiler TV, the upcoming episode "There's a Fine, Fine Line," which will premiere on April 14, will show the hospital on total lockdown brought on by the disappearance of a child.
During these events, Warren decides to perform a surgery on a pregnant woman without using the proper medical equipment. Due to the possible repercussions of his actions, Bailey, who is the hospital's Chief of Surgery, will have to determine if her husband Warren's decisions are justified or were just the result of an impulsive behavior.
As Cater Matt noted, if Baily rules against Warren's actions, then it could eventually lead to the collapse of the TV couple's marriage.
