2016 MTV Movie Awards Live Stream Free and Preview: Watch Online Red Carpet, Performance and Nomination lists

The biggest names in the entertainment industry will gather on Sunday at the MTV Movie Awards 2016, hosted by action star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and comedian Kevin Hart. The fans-over-critics awards show honors the best films and performances of the year. Here's how you can watch the 2016 MTV Movie Awards online and details about live stream channel.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 10th. The red carpet pre-show will start at 7:30 p.m ET.

The happenings will take place in the backlot of the Warner Brothers studio in Burbank. MTV Movie Awards executive producer Casey Patterson said the idea of bringing the show in the backlot was come to celebrate where movies are made.

TV viewers can watch the ceremony on MTV and MTV 2. For those who want to see it online, the official livestream channel of the awards night is on MTV.com

Interestingly, the 2016 MTV Movie awards will have an exclusive first looks on the much-anticipated films like Suicide Squad and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. In addition, expect musical performances from Ariana Grande and Halsey.

Ariana Grande will sing the carrier single of her new album, Dangerous Woman. Halsey will perform perform "Castle," a song from the upcoming film The Huntsman: Winter's War.

The presenters for the evening are Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Olivia Munn and Jessica Chastain. Additionally, President Obama's favorite rap artist Kendrick Lamar and supermodel Gigi Hadid will hand out the golden popcorn-shaped awards.

The highlights of the show are the presentation of Comedic Genius award and this year's Generation Award.

Melissa McCarthy is the first woman to receive the Comedic Genius award. The American actress started her career at the Groundlings Theatre, and then she played chef Sookie in Gilmore Girls from 2000 to 2007.

On other hand, Will Smith is the recipient of Generation Award. The past honorees of the award are Sandra Bullock, Robert Downey, Jr., and Reese Witherspoon. MTV's version of the lifetime achievement award is given to an artist who has shown variety of great performances.
