Good news for Gears of War gamers out there. Gears of War 4 will hit gaming shelves on October 11. However, the upcoming title for the series will be available on Xbox One first. The game is said to offer powerful, new weapons that will definitely excite gamers. Now, here's what is currently known about Games of War 4 release date, new contents, and rumors.
Microsoft revealed the game during the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015. According to Xbox Wire, the new game will be released exactly on October 11 in different regions around the world. The fourth instalment in the gaming franchise will feature a new band of heroes that will face a new threat.
As of now, the new chapter for the Gears of War saga is only confirmed for Xbox One. In an interview with Game Informer, Studio head Rod Fergusson hinted there could be a Gears of War 4 release in PC. However, this is still not yet confirmed.
Meanwhile, Microsoft and The Coalition will release a Games of War 4 Beta. They already confirmed it in Games of War Website. Early access to the beta will start on April 18. To have early access, you must have played Gears of War Edition by March 1st.
Games of War 4 is set to feature powerful new weapons. One of these is The Dropshot. According to the separate report from Game Informer, The Dropshot functions as a replacement for The Digger from Gears of War 3. The Dropshot is said to fire an aerial mine that hovers over the battlefield in a straight line as long as the trigger is held. When the player let go the trigger, the mine will spin downward violently. It will blow anything nearby into pieces if it hits the ground. If it directly hits an enemy, the mine will drill into enemy's head until it explodes.
Gears of War costs $60 for Xbox One. Fortunately, you can secure an early deal if you buy from Amazon or Best Buy. Amazon Prime Members can now pre-order Gears of War 4 for only $48 while Best Buy Gamers Club can have a 20% discount for the pre-order.
Selling over 22 million copies, Games of War franchise is said to be one of Microsoft's most important gaming series.
